WHY PAN CARD RETURNED UNDELIVERED ?
WHY PAN CARD RETURNED UNDELIVERED ? : All the new pan cards, correction pan cards and Reprint pan cards are sent by A-class Couriers to those cities which are served by such Couriers . Pan cards are dispatched to small towns and villages (which are not served by Couriers) by SPEED POST which is rather more reliable in comparision to Couriers.
If any pan card returned back undelivered and applicant makes complaint or request for resending of pancard, then pancard is resent by SPEED POST generally. Here, it is very important to note that pancard is always sent on valid address mentioned in the application of applicant.
Generally, Pan Card returned back undelivered due to following reasons: –
> Delivering Couriers are not getting sufficient delivery charges by their head offices and therefore, they are not at all serious in delivering the pancards. They deliver only within easy reach and they return others.
> Many Delivering Couriers are collecting small amounts from applicants and if they feel that particular applicant will not give any such amount, they return that particular pancard.
> Some couriers also try to intimate the applicant by telephone and if applicant does not reach to collect the pancard, they return pancard.
> Major general reason is the non-availability of applicant or family members or any other responsible person for taking the delivery of pan card at given address and Couriers do not try repeatedly /subsequently.

> Sometimes, applicant migrates / leaves from the address given in application temporarily or permanently and applicant or family members or any other responsible person does not remain for taking delivery of pan card.
> Sometimes, applicant gives his wrong / temporary / non-active address as per valid address proof as he has no other option for valid address proof and there after, he fails to manage to take the delivery of pancard on this given address.
> Sometimes, address is too small though it is matching with valid address proof or wrong PIN Code has been mentioned in address and postman remains unable to locate the applicant address.

> Particularly, the names in Election ID are not complete generally (One Word Name or Name without Surname) and in villages, there are many persons of identical names and therefore, it is very problematic for post man to search right person. In that case, either he makes wrong delivery or he returns the pancard.
> Presently, We can see the Hundreds / Thousands of Aadhar Cards lying in the many post offices which are not delivered by the postmen due to heavy shortage of man power / postmen and applicants are making self searching of their Aadhar Cards in the post offices. And this way, either Aadhar Cards remain undelivered or are taken by other persons. This same position may with pancards in some post offices.
